Class MPP/Concurrent 2026
Bruce Arao (he/him) is a first-year dual Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Health (MPP/MPH) student at the University of California, Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and School of Public Health. His policy interests include health policy, government innovation and leading systems-level change to improve California’s public health systems.
Before coming to Cal, Bruce worked in Adolescent and Black Maternal Health for 4 years at the California Dpt. of Public Health as both a Data Analyst and Research Scientist. Bruce graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Sociology. Outside of school, Bruce is a youth leader in the Japanese American community and has started multiple efforts to recruit more youth into the community. If he is not working, you can find him playing tennis, building LEGOs or trying a new board game.
