Class MDP 2026
Hayley is a Master of Development Practice student from Long Beach, California. She completed her Bachelor's Degree at Colorado College with a Major in International Political Economy and a minor in French. Her undergraduate studies focused on development work within the global south and examining the impact of large-scale NGO's in small communities. After graduation, Hayley went to work in commercial real estate development while competing as a professional cyclist. Now, as a graduate student, she is studying how the rest of the world interacts with Sub-Saharan Africa through development projects and social science experiments. She is especially interested in the role that professional sports leagues and sport mega events play in the economic development of former European colonies. For her summer internship, she worked for Professor Martha Wilfarht of the political science department. Hayley compiled a database of social science experiments conducted in Sub-Saharan Africa from 2000 to present, recording the scale, scope, location, targeted population, and noted impacts of such projects. This data is to be used for Professor Wilfarht's forthcoming book.
