Perry Robinson is a Master of Public Policy candidate at UC Berkeley with a focus on child and family policy, criminal justice policy, and social safety net programs aimed at poverty alleviation. Originally from San Diego, CA, he earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University, where he studied cultural anthropology, Spanish, and linguistics.
Perry began his career in the restaurant industry as a line cook, where he developed a deep interest in supporting working parents. This passion led him to transition into the nonprofit sector, joining Book Harvest, an early literacy organization dedicated to empowering young children and their families. As Special Projects Manager, he created and launched Books in a Box, an innovative program that provides a platform for connection between caregivers who are incarcerated and their children by facilitating the exchange of books and personalized letters through the mail.
Drawing on both nonprofit work and policy training, he aims to design and advance systems that better support children and the caregivers who raise them.
