Stephen Lezak, is a Research Fellow at the Berkeley Carbon Trading Project, where he focuses on integrity and environmental justice in the voluntary carbon market. He is also a researcher at the Oxford Smith School of Enterprise & the Environment, and collaborates closely with the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy. Formerly, he spent five years at the Rocky Mountain Institute, focusing on industrial decarbonization. He holds a Ph.D. in Polar Studies from Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar. He has written on climate and environmental policy for The New York Times and many other outlets, and is currently writing a book on Indigenous environmental justice, forthcoming from Simon & Schuster.
